Gianluca Tordi studied engineering at the University of Naples ‘Federico II’ in Italy and graduated as a chemical engineer specialising in energy and environment. He also holds a postgraduate degree in business administration from the Stoà Institute in Naples.
He began his professional career as an HR Organisation Analyst at an Italian subsidiary of the multinational consumer goods group Fater, a joint venture between P&G and Angelini Pharmaceutical.
Gianluca Tordi then took on a challenge as Organisational Development and Industrial Relations Manager at H.J. Heinz in Italy, a global food company specialising in baby food, sauces and spices. At Heinz, he had the opportunity to take on various positions in factories and at the headquarter, eventually becoming Head of HR for Italy. During his ten-year career at Heinz, he successfully implemented numerous projects in the areas of organisational development, people engagement, performance management as well as talent acquisition and development. Following the acquisition of the Heinz Company by two industrial funds, he led the HR workstream of the associated transformation project in Italy.
After his time at Heinz, he had the opportunity to take on various strategic HR roles in different industries and regions. He worked as HR Director in the bakery and animal nutrition sector at IFFCO Ltd., a multinational family-owned company based in the United Arab Emirates, as Senior HR Director Italy and Greece in the cosmetics industry at COTY, as Head of People Management at Metro Cash & Carry Italy, and as HR & Organisational Development Director at Séché Italia, a French multinational company in the environmental services sector. In all these roles, he was a business partner to CEOs and board members and was particularly responsible for talent acquisition and development, performance management, organisational development, compensation & benefits and human resources administration.
Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to attend numerous training programmes at P&G (HR Master), Kraft-Heinz (Leadership, Change Management), Insead (Business Partnering) and InnerGame Institution (Leadership). He is also certified as a Business Coach by Avalore Srl (ICF-certified programme).
As an HR consultant and coach, Gianluca Tordi takes a holistic approach. Drawing on his extensive experience in various roles, industries and cultures, he uses a range of models and solutions to provide his clients with tailored support on their path to achieving the best possible results, thereby building long-term business partnerships.
