Christopher Rawden studied music at Nottingham University in the United Kingdom and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (with Honours). He plays the trumpet and piano and, in his spare time, is still an active and passionate musician in various ensembles in Brussels/Belgium.
After graduation, he started his professional career initially in the public sector as an executive in a newly-formed advisory body for education policy in the UK, developing his capacity for attention to detail within the bigger strategic picture. He then took on a new challenge as a Manager in the International Affairs Directorate at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, gaining a broad perspective on the challenges facing the global accountancy profession, before moving on to a senior European Executive Manager position at Moore Stephens International in 1998 (now Moore Global), a top 15 global network of accounting, tax and consulting firms. He transferred to Brussels, was promoted to the role of European Regional Director in 2002 and continued in this role until 2019. Under his leadership, Moore Stephens International’s European region grew extensively, becoming a top 10 ranked global network, with a specialist reputation in its chosen market sectors.
Christopher Rawden speaks English as his mother tongue, is fluent in German – he holds the Goethe Institute's Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom (Small German Language Diploma) in London, for example – and has a good knowledge of French, which reflects his keen interest in languages, cultures and linguistic proficiency.
Between 2014 and 2021 he undertook intensive studies in leadership with mediation skills in Vienna, focusing on harnessing emotional awareness and proven mediation processes to support individuals in conflict situations.
Since leaving Moore Global in 2019, he has provided consulting, coaching and mentoring services to various global accounting networks and firms, including strategy and operations, 1:1 support to leaders and their teams.
Christopher Rawden combines his extensive career as a leader in global accountancy networks with his subsequent training in coaching and mediation, to help leaders and teams in global organisations raise their performance through improved emotional awareness, empathy and conflict management skills. His combination of professional services sector career experience with a focus on international communications challenges and people development skills makes him unique as a coach and mentor to leaders entering or growing into international positions.
