After graduating from college, Wasif Munir Mughal joined the Pakistani Army as an officer and completed his military training at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul.

During his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the Pakistan Military Academy and a Master's degree in Military Science from the University of Karachi. He further specialised by completing Air Defence Staff training (specialised course in air defence) at the Army Air Defence School in Karachi and Logistics Staff training (specialised course in logistics) at the Army Logistics School in Kuldana.

Wasif M. Mughal began his military career as a Staff Officer/Second Lieutenant (SO) in the Army Air Defence Corps. During his 25-year military career, which was marked by command, training and leadership roles, he rose steadily through the ranks thanks to his operational excellence and strategic foresight, until he finally attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

As Chief Instructor (CI) at the Division Battle School, he led the tactical training of over 1,800 soldiers and implemented simulator-based training reforms that improved operational readiness by 30%. During his time as Deputy Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster General of the Air Defence Brigade, Wasif M. Mughal was responsible for ensuring the availability and operational readiness of mission-critical resources and the logistical operations of a fully operational brigade. By optimising supply chain workflows, he achieved a 27% reduction in equipment downtime. He was also responsible for the integration of digitised surveillance systems, real-time radar data fusion and threat prioritisation.

In his next career step, he managed all administrative and logistical functions of a large military station as Deputy Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster General at a Station Headquarter. During this time, he developed and implemented a ‘digitalised access card system’ to increase perimeter security in the area of access control and improved the environmental balance (footprint) of the zone shared by the military and civilian population. He also ensured optimal crisis response and business continuity while managing a wide range of personnel tasks with limited resources.

In his last position in the Pakistani Army as Lieutenant Colonel/Grade 1 Staff Officer (GSO-I) at the headquarter of the Army Air Defence Command in Pakistan, he was responsible for strategic security and defence planning at the national command level. He managed the surveillance, control and reporting systems for secure real-time situational awareness, was responsible for the development and implementation of standardised operational SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for air defence, and coordinated operational planning and crisis preparedness between units.

Wasif M. Mughal has completed a range of professional military technical and specialised courses for officers in the fields of air defence, weapons training, infantry tactics, desert warfare, materials management and logistics, personnel and financial management, and cybersecurity in modern digital risk environments.

His operational versatility in different environments, his ability to collaborate with civilian institutions and his proven experience in training junior leaders provide real added value for clients seeking structured, scalable, and mission-oriented security training solutions. His continuous pursuit of qualifications, including in the field of digital security, makes him a leading expert in an environment characterised by diverse threats, including cybercrime.

Wasif M. Mughal is renowned as a top consultant for his integrity, foresight and mission-oriented approach to organisational security.
