Prof. Dr. Satish Kumar Damodar studied Management & Technology at various universities in Asia and Europe. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Kerala in India, a Master’s Degree in Engineering Environmental Technology from Lahti University of Applied Sciences in Finland, as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Administration Management from the Indira Gandhi National Open University in India.

His academic background includes a Doctorate in Management & Governance with a specialisation in Corporate Sustainability & Strategic CSR from the University of Twente in the Netherlands, a Doctorate in Industrial Systems Engineering from King’s International University in Tonga, as well as a Post-Doctorate in Sustainability from the European Scientific Institute.

In addition, he holds several postgraduate qualifications in Economics & Management from leading institutions in India, as well as a professional licence (Certificate of Profession) in Industrial Engineering from the Institution of Engineers Indonesia/Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia (PII).

After graduating in physics, he began a professional career in the Indian pharmaceutical and technology industries alongside his academic career. He progressed from Field Officer, Field Product Manager and Product Manager to Deputy General Manager, General Manager and Country Manager for India, with wide-ranging responsibilities. His fields of responsibility included business development, strategic planning and leadership, brand and market development, as well as innovation and new product development for leading private-sector and government-owned companies. He has worked for organisations such as Pfizer, Astra IDL, Sun Pharma, Sunsoft Technologies, Hindustan Latex and Imaging Solutions. His track record includes strategic and operational management, successfully implemented market entry strategies, numerous process improvements, project management, as well as future-oriented personnel and organisational development.

To date, Prof. Dr. Satish Kumar Damodar has over two decades of practical experience in industrial management, as well as academic experience at universities in Russia, Ethiopia, Indonesia and Cambodia. His academic expertise spans interdisciplinary fields such as management, corporate sustainability, operations research, statistics and social sciences.

Continuous professional development is important to him, such as his qualification as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from the Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC), as well as his qualifications from the National Institute of Wind Energy (design & development of small wind turbines) and the European Institute of Technology (digitalisation in manufacturing).
