Markus Rehn holds a Bachelor's degree in Professional of Metal Production & Management as well as a Master's degree in Technical Business Management, both from the Chamber of Industry & Commerce in Schweinfurt/Germany.
He began his professional career as an Industrial Mechanic at Koenig & Bauer AG in Germany, a company in the offset printing machine industry, and then moved to Sebald Engineering GmbH in the specialised machine construction sector as a Logistics & Warehouse Supervisor/Assembly Engineer. During this time, he developed comprehensive fundamentals in the areas of mechanical as well as electrical components and manufacturing, design, production planning, assembly and maintenance, as well as materials and warehouse management.
He took the next step in his career as an international Purchaser at Preh GmbH PIA in Germany, a subsidiary of Joyson Holding based in Ningbo/China, which, with around 40,000 employees, is one of the world's leading providers of intelligent automotive technology solutions. At Preh GmbH, he quickly rose to the position of Project Manager, with particular responsibility for projects in the product development process (from product idea to production start), FMEA analyses (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), transfer management (packaging & shipping) as well as customer final acceptance.
An important milestone in his professional and personal development was when Markus Rehn became Project Manager & Head of PIA (Preh Innovative Automation) at Preh PIA Ningbo in China due to his achievements, responsible as project manager for the establishment of the subsidiary ‘Project PIA China’. On site, he was responsible for building planning, budget and investment planning, process descriptions and implementations, employee training, SAP implementations, supplier audits, initial PIA projects on the Chinese market, as well as monitoring purchasing and logistics activities. While living in China, he then moved to Joyson Preh Industrial Automation & Robot Co. Ltd. as Purchase & Logistics Department Manager, where he was responsible in particular for managing the purchasing and logistics department, purchasing and supply chain strategies, negotiating prices and contracts, budget and investment planning, as well as monitoring import and export business.
He then became General Manager China at the Synex Group in Shanghai, a subsidiary of Expondo in Germany, which is active in e-commerce with around 350 employees and a turnover of 60 million Euros. As Head of Merchandising/Procurement & Quality Control in Shanghai and Hangzhou, he was responsible in particular for auditing suppliers, negotiating prices and minimum order quantities in accordance with OEM requirements, managing exports, budget and investment planning, as well as handling HR and financial processes.
After more than 20 years of building up and developing professional international qualifications and experience, he decided to become an independent Consultant and Entrepreneur in the field of import/export and product consulting & production for import/export. He supports his clients in particular with feasibility analyses, searching for and selecting new suppliers including auditing, negotiating prices and minimum order quantities according to OEM requirements, sample production and testing, designing own-brand products and packaging, logistics and container planning, customs clearance, through to monitoring/controlling the entire import and export business.
