Lulzim Morina holds a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Pristina in Kosovo.
After graduating as an electrical engineer, he began and developed his professional career within humanitarian development and consultancy organisations. He started at Mercy Corps, which provides humanitarian emergency aid and consultancy services through around 3,400 employees in over 30 countries worldwide. He progressed from Food Warehouse Manager, Pipeline Manager and Senior Programme Officer successively to Programme Director and Chief of Party in Kosovo. He subsequently established himself as an international executive in roles including Country Operations Director, Border Operations Manager & Procurement Specialist in Syria and Turkey, Director of Operations & Head of Office in Yemen, Director of Programs & Deputy Country Director in Sudan, Director of Support Services in north-western Syria, Amman and Jordan, as well as Emergency Programs Director in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In these roles, he had overall responsibility for portfolios each ranging from around 10 to 60 million USD, managed teams of between 20 and 400 employees, and held broad different functional responsibility for procurement, supply chain, logistics, organisational development, administration, human resources, learning systems, infrastructure, building partnerships, quality assurance, resilience, compliance and risk management.
Following this, Lulzim Morina served as Hub Director/Director of Support Services & Programs at Relief International in Turkey and north-western Syria, responsible for a portfolio of 24.0 million USD and leading over 150 employees providing healthcare as well as supply and operational support to hospitals and health clinics.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, as well as various specialist training courses and certifications – for example in leadership, programme & operations management, finance & procurement, coaching, conflict management & facilitation – he now works as a Consultant.
