Asif Khan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Osmania University/Muffakham Jah College of Engineering & Technology as well as a Master of Business Administration degree with a specialisation in Human Resources and Marketing, also from Osmania University in India. He also holds a diploma in Mergers & Acquisitions (Private Equity & Venture Capital Transactions) from LawSikho Addictive Learning Technology Ltd. in India.

He began his professional career as a Consultant, Business Analyst & Project Lead at Tech Mahindra Satyam in the area of data change solutions for clients in the supply chain management, retail (Starbucks), banking & financial services (Scotia Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank) as well as telecommunications (Telstra, British Telecom) sectors in India, Australia, Qatar and the UK. He then worked as an HR Consultant at Weill Cornell Medicine in Doha/Qatar, where he played a key role in supporting the digital HR transformation through the use of new SAP HR tools, managing cross-functional collaboration, process optimisation and implementation.

Asif Khan then took the next step in his career as Assistant HR Manager in the Sales & Corporate Division of Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. in Hyderabad. There, he was National HR Business Partner for sales & corporate functions and Head of Strategic Talent Management & Employee Engagement, responsible in particular for recruitment, onboarding and compensation strategies, talent management and development, performance management and succession planning, as well as cross-functional collaboration in human resources.

His next challenge took him to Novartis, a globally successful biotechnology and pharmaceutical company based in Switzerland. He became Senior HR, Talent & Organisational Development Advisor at Novartis in the Hyderabad region, with particular responsibility for leading HR transformations and HR process implementations, preparing teams for successful product launches in the pharmaceutical sector, performance management, as well as training a European team of six specialists with super-user access for complex digital HR applications. Within Novartis, he then progressed to become Manager Integration & Transformation, with particular responsibility for designing and implementing effective organisational, talent and human resources programmes in 72 countries, including adaptation to local conditions. He led core HR functions – such as performance appraisal, succession planning, compensation and human resources administration – as well as talent and organisational development. He also provided support during mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, etc., ensuring a smooth transition to the offshore HR hub in India.

In his next career step, Asif Khan became Manager Hub Transformation & Digital Next in the Global Business Services (GBS) division at KPMG in Hyderabad. There, he focused intensively on shared services and outsourcing, setting up shared services centre teams in finance and accounting, governance, portfolio management as well as digital business services, particularly in the pharmaceutical, supply chain, oil and gas, telecommunications, banking and financial services, retail and fashion sectors.

In addition to his extensive professional experience, he is a certified Independent Director of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, a certified Executive Manager of the UVA McIntire School of Commerce in Charlottesville/USA, as well as a certified Management Consultant of the Institute of Management Consultants in India.
