Jean Bernard Sadeu holds a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the École Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique de Yaoundé (ENSPY) in Cameroon, which is affiliated with the University of Yaoundé, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance Management from the L'École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales (ESSEC) in Douala/Cameroon.
After graduating, he began his professional career as Assistant Purchasing Director at Delmonte Fresh Produce in Douala, an international FMCG company, where he coordinated the national and international supply chains for everything from raw materials to irrigation equipment. Furthermore, he was able to use his engineering skills to contribute to significant improvements in agricultural operations and the irrigation network.
He took the next step in his career as Project Director at COMETAL, a leading steel construction and subcontracting company with over 450 employees in Douala, where he led a team of project managers and structural engineers to successfully deliver major infrastructure projects in Cameroon and the Central African region, such as power stations, stadiums, bridges, structures and pipework for offshore oil platforms, large storage tanks and much more. In this role, he was also responsible for technical studies and tender documents, project cost calculations, supervising workshop work and construction activities on site, as well as QHSE management.
After that, Jean Bernard Sadeu moved as Lead Project Manager to ENEO in Douala, a state-owned electricity supplier with over 3,700 employees. In this role within the design and construction of power station infrastructure, he was responsible for drawing up specifications, carrying out preliminary and detailed planning, supervising construction and refurbishment work on thermal and hydroelectric power plants with a capacity of up to 82 MW, as well as for budget monitoring and quality control. Within ENEO, he subsequently became District Area Manager, responsible for overseeing and coordinating the commercial activities (sales, meter reading, invoicing, debt collection, etc.) of four agencies, as well as the technical services of three centres. Under his leadership, e.g., the distribution efficiency was increased from 65% to 73% and the customer payment rate from 88% to 95%.
Owing to his successes, he was subsequently promoted within ENEO to Director of Power Grid Construction, responsible for leading construction project teams (technical area managers, project managers and construction supervisors) and for the implementation of the investment project portfolio (electricity distribution and major state projects), the selection of partners and (construction) contractors, budget monitoring and quality control, acceptance and handover processes, as well as reporting to the management board and other stakeholders. During this time, he oversaw the laying of over 600 km of medium-voltage lines and 300 km of low-voltage lines in Cameroon, as well as the construction of over 400 MV/LV substations.
After more than 20 years in various specialist and management roles at several leading companies, he decided to set up his own business as a General Contractor, Adviser and Managing Consultant/Project Manager in Cameroon. He is characterised by analytical precision, a high degree of adaptability and strong execution skills, with a firm focus on measurable results. This makes him, overall, a valuable partner for companies striving for growth, efficiency and sustainability in a highly competitive environment.
